Amos Announces Fall US Tour: Presales Start Tuesday, August 6

It's the news you've been waiting for: Amos has just announced a 17-date US tour in support of his forthcoming album, Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song.

The presales will begin tomorrow morning, August 6, at 10 am local time. Set your alarms and make sure you're online right at 10, as these tickets will sell out quickly.

One dollar from every ticket sold to these upcoming dates will be donated to Musicians On Call, a non-profit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

AmosBlue Note Records has announced that the new Amos Lee album, Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song, will be released on October 8.

Mountains Of Sorrow, Rivers Of Song, produced by Jay Joyce, features guest appearances by two legendary ladies — Alison Krauss joins Amos on "Chill In The Air" and Patty Griffin sings harmony on "Mountains of Sorrow," a song inspired by Amos's visit to Levon Helm's barn in Woodstock, where he appeared at the legendary drummer's Midnight Ramble not long before Helm's death.

The new record is the first to feature Amos's long-time touring band — comprising Freddie Berman, Zach Djanikian, Andy Keenan and Jaron Olevsky — and the first album ever recorded at St. Charles, producer Joyce's brand new studio, housed in a converted church in East Nashville.

On recording the 12 new songs in Nashville, Amos says, "I've always enjoyed it down there, so I thought I'd bring my band and see how a bunch of Philly guys fit in."

Amos Finished Recording Next Album

On the heels of the announcement that Amos was nearing completion of his next album, he told Billboard that the work is now done. He spoke to Billboard after his set at a benefit performance for Farm Aid, which included covers of Levon Helms' "Growing Trade" and Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come".

The follow-up to Amos' last full length release, Mission Bell, features guests appearances by Patty Griffin, Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas. The yet-to-be-named record is due out this fall, so stay tuned to this space for updates as they come.

Amos Recording New Album In Nashville


Amos is currently finishing album number five with producer Jay Joyce (Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Eric Church).

Amos is the first artist to record in Jay's new studio, which he built in an old church in east Nashville. We'll have more details about the new record for you very soon, so stay tuned.

Amos To Perform At Cross-Country Lines

Amos has been announced as one of the special guests at the special kick-off event for the Americana Music Association’s Cross-Country Lines Festival, set for June 1 at The Factory in Franklin, TN.

"ACL Presents: Americana Music Festival" National Broadcast To Begin Airing November 19th on PBS




Dear Americana Music Lover,

Beginning November 19 on PBS Stations nationwide (check local listings), Americana's best will shine in the national spotlight during a special ACL Presents: Americana Music Festival, presented by Nissan. Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris, Gregg Allman, Alison Krauss, Justin Townes Earle, Amos Lee, The Avett Brothers and The Civil Wars are just a few of the artists appearing on the program. Called "the best awards show in the world" by Paste Magazine, the hour long special was filmed live at the Ryman Auditorium on October 13th, 2011 during the sold-out Americana Music Association's Honors and Awards and features special performances from the genres' established and rising stars.

We'd like to announce the pre-order of Amos' brand-new iTunes collection, Live From SoHo. The 8-song set was recorded live at NYC's Apple Store in SoHo and features Amos backed by his touring band. CBC's QTV: Live on R2 Drive

Philadelphia singer/songwriter Amos Lee’s latest CD Mission Bell debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts the week it was released. Hot on the heels of that success, Amos dropped by the Drive studio for an "Up Close" session where he performed an acoustic set of three of his newest songs.
